I expecting nothing less from you

You never fail to impress me with your sense of melody and what ambient truly is. It doesn't have to be just soundscapes (which I am fond of), but what you do is add a jazzy twist to a beautiful genre that I don't listen to enough. We really need to do a collaboration one of these days. I can only imagine how it will turn out.

Again, a wonderful song that can only be described as melodic and enchanting.

A 10, from idiosyncratic. Now that's a first i believe.

Thank you so much for the kind review, and yés, i cannot agree more. We should actually collab sometime soon. I have always loved your music, your unique style, and i bet we will create one crazy ass tune.

Thanks for the kind review, and i hope to speak to you soon!

Noise? lulz

This is experimental, not noise. It isn't cacophonous enough, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good track. I love the professionalism in every small detail. The drum beats are very IDM like, actually they are IDM. The sudden stops and breaks add and build up tension. The piano, synths, and all the little noises in between make this a standout track. This is experimental, but it ends up becoming a wonderfully ambient/IDM track that is just as relaxing as any chillout track.

Thumbs up my friend.

tijnn responds:

Thanks. I actually can't agree with you more, i personally love this track a lot while i started it off with a smile, saying 'lol im gonna make such filthy noise'.

Im glad you liked it!

hell....YES

This is breakcore. This gives Venetian Snares a run for his money, seriously. It's more tame than stuff, but in a good way. The snare rush in the beginning was perfectly timed, the off-kilter drums beats are also quite good. The synths minimalistic, yet perfectly placed and add a sense of chaos to this tune.

Amazing, your best song to date.

tijnn responds:

Haha thanks a lot for the kind review man!

Woot, a 10 by you, that hasn't happened in a very long time.
Thank you so much for the praising and kind review man!

Ah yes, anxiety

This is definitely one of the better tracks you've made, and here's why:

It captures a mood without question. I can imagine a variety of things, let's say, while listening to this track. I also love it how it loops so damn well. It could be on repeat for half an hour before I realized that it was the same song. The pads are relaxing, but they still manage to retain a certain amount of anxiety and tension, which is good. Keep it up man.

tijnn responds:

Hehe thanks alot again for the kind words and awesome hints in the review, Idiosyncratic!

Now here's something

A nice pumping bass drum, an arp that Tiesto would be jealous of, and a catchy melody that isn't just three notes. The percussion is crystal clear, but not overpowering. The melody is at the forefrunt, but it doesn't kill everything else. The samples (albeit only two), were well placed and added that DJ and night club feel to the song.

Great job, buddy. Just make some longer songs, so we can jam some longer.

tijnn responds:

Hehe yeah that sure makes sense, thanks for the awesome review!

Good but needs some editing.

I like this. However, I would, if I were you, get rid of any of the stupid three note patterns that show up every so often. The song is a bit schizophrenic and I can't always tell where it's going. You have too many pads going on at one time and things, like the melody, can get lost in the mix. Also, please make the drums louder because they're just barely audible and for a genre of music that depends on the power of the drums, it just doesn't work.

tijnn responds:

Well i didn't make this to be standard IDM / D&B, it actually started out as an ambient / FX track. But i combined it a bit with breakcore to make it sound like this. Still glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the review!

I love the evolution

I'm astounded by the great transition. The beginning reminded me of those unoriginal eurodance tracks for a few seconds, but once the bass and drums kicked into full gear, it transformed into a cool electronica track. This is far from chill-out, but who cares about genre classification?

This reminds me, in a good way, about my younger years spent playing my Sega Genesis and N64. I'm not sure how it reminded me of my fondness for the old video games, but really good overall.

Just in case you're wondering, I only gave out one ten ever in my reviews, and in hindsight, it was a bad decision. Perfection is subjective, so I'd rather not give the false impression that this is perfect.

tijnn responds:

haha, those are some really wise words and i do completely understand, but for a young / unexperienced / new artist, like many on newgrounds, perfection is not in reach unfortunately, thanks for the honest words though and i really appreciate the review, thanks alot and i hope you really enjoyed!

Cool stuff

One of the few tracks that I can honestly say deserves a 10. The amen break was tastefully chopped up and spewed around in a harmonious way. The melody and basslines were cool and thankfully not so cliche as they tend to be in electronic genres.

10/10--A great electronic track with a familiar but not cliche approach.

tijnn responds:

Hehe thanks alot, i try my best to keep it interesting! ;)

Oh dear god, those synths

Well, this is a really cool tune. The melody was great and the guitar, although very MIDI, was well produced. The drums didn't bother me that much, although, as you said, they aren't the greatest drum samples to use. The synths did become rather too prominent at unnecessary points, and sometimes the random bells didn't work well, considering the chimes were out of key. The riffs were cool, the drums did they job and weren't too flashy.

All in all, a great track, not much more room for improvement.

Goukisan responds:

Very much appreciated... Very often I get "yo that was siiiiiick" or something along those lines and it's nice to get some real honest feedback.

If people agree with you about the synth I will tone them down.

Thanks for your review

*edit* the bells were meant to not fit the song.. originally the idea behind this song was for the bells and scary pad at the start to represent the fear that the song was fighting against

God, I should be on Ecstacy right now

This track sounds like something played at a small rave. Instead of dragging on forever, it is ended at the perfect length, which is a plus. The melody is repetitive, but most electronica tends to be. The snare rolls were annoying though, way too many, and they drowned out everything else when they came in, plus they were really distorted.

Good job.

gother responds:

Thanks, man. I think, I dunno, I'm tired right now.

I CAN'T HEAR YOU! MY EGO'S IN THE WAY!
